This is not your typical retreat. Primal Reset is a 6-day, 5-night men’s-only experience built around physical challenge, primal adventure, clean fuel, and real connection—all set in one of the most beautiful and secluded surf towns on the planet.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by our team and a group of men here for the same thing: to push their limits, reset their bodies, and connect with something real. After a scenic drive to Playa Maderas, we kick things off with a barefoot ocean plunge to shake off the travel and settle into our beachside home. Dinner follows, clean and local, with the crew gathering to ground the energy and set the tone.
What a Day Looks Like
We start early. Most days begin before sunrise, with beach runs, gritty workouts, and strength training using the jungle gym or bodyweight on the sand. You’ll move hard, breathe deep, and jump straight into the ocean or cold plunge to reset.
Breakfast follows—a spread of smoothies, raw milk, eggs, grass-fed beef, local veggies, and zero seed oils. You’ll feel fueled, not fogged.
Then it’s time to hit the water. Surf lessons with our trusted local instructors are core to the experience. Whether you’re new to the board or leveling up, you’ll be paddling out, wiping out, and dialing it in. If conditions allow, we’ll also offer spearfishing just off the reef in front of our villas—your catch goes straight to the chef.
Afternoons vary but are always purposeful. ATV jungle rides to hidden waterfalls, time by the pool, cold plunges, and full-body recovery massages are all part of the rhythm. You’ll also have space to chill, journal, or connect with the group.
Connection, Reflection, and Fuel
Evenings start with fresh juices and a group skill-share session, where guys exchange ideas, share what they’re building, and offer support. Dinner is a communal feast—grass-fed steak, local sides, and, on one night, a bold, symbolic snack: bull testicle ceviche. Optional, primal, and powerful—just like the week.
We’ll also experience a full-day catamaran excursion, sailing to a remote beach for snorkeling, spearfishing, and a ceviche lunch on deck, cruising back during golden hour. One night, we head into town for a casual dinner and a taste of the local vibe—no booze, just solid food, good convo, and maybe a little dancing.
The Crew & The Aftermath
The group is capped at 18 men to keep the experience tight and intentional. Whether you come solo or with a friend, you’ll leave with a crew. This format is built for connection—through shared effort, meals, and moments that hit deeper than small talk.
On the final night, we close with an awards ceremony and reflection—a chance to look back at how far you’ve come, and forward to how this lifestyle carries on after the trip.
You’ll Leave With:
• A body that’s been pushed, challenged, and rebuilt
• New tools and habits for movement, nutrition, and clarity
• Real friendships formed through sweat, struggle, and support
• A renewed sense of power, purpose, and discipline
This isn’t just a break—it’s a blueprint for how you want to live.
Welcome to Primal Reset.
Is this a luxury retreat?
Nope. This is a raw, real, and purpose-driven experience—not a yoga retreat, not a luxury escape. That said, our beachside property is beautiful, comfortable, and fully equipped with A/C, ensuite bathrooms, fast WiFi, and incredible views. You’ll sleep well and feel grounded, but this isn’t about being pampered—it’s about being present.
What should I expect day-to-day?
Every day includes early morning training, clean meals, and physical challenges—from beach workouts to trail runs, surfing, cold plunges, and mobility work. There’s time to chill too—massages, beach hangs, and conversations that go beyond the surface. The days are full, but intentional.
What if I’m not in peak shape?
You don’t need to be elite. You just need to show up. All workouts are scalable, and the only thing we expect is effort and attitude. If you’re willing to push yourself and be a part of the crew, you’ll thrive.
Is it okay if I come alone?
Absolutely. Most guys do. This trip is designed to create connection fast—through movement, shared meals, and real conversations. You’ll leave with a new crew.
Are there bugs?
Yes—we’re in the tropics, so expect some insects. But if you keep your doors closed, you’ll be fine. We provide mosquito nets, fans, and safe, clean accommodations.
Is there alcohol on the trip?
No alcohol. This is a full-body reset, including what we put in our system. Clean eating, clean living, clean mindset.
Can I opt out of activities?
Yes—this is your reset. If your body needs rest or you want a quiet moment alone, take it. Everything is encouraged, nothing is forced.
Will I be pushed outside my comfort zone?
Yes. That’s the point. But in the best way possible. You’ll leave stronger—physically and mentally.
Yes, travel & medical insurance is mandatory and must be obtained prior to joining our trip. If you choose not to purchase travel insurance, you acknowledge and accept our policy, which requires a minimum of 28 days' notice to transfer your credit to another trip.
Please note that we do not issue refunds under any circumstances.
We will have two shuttles: one from Managua Airport (MGA) at 3pm and the other one from Liberia Airport (LIR) at 3pm. We recommend flying into either one; both are about equal distance from our villas, so go for the more convenient option.
If you fly into Liberia, there is a short land border process but we have all the tips to make it a quick and easy crossing!
All our rooms are air-conditioned, are in a gated community with 24-hour security & have a safe for valuables.
There are several villas, all within walking distance, with several rooms and a kitchen within them. The hotel is home to a huge jungle gym, two amazing surf-view yoga decks, two infinity pools, and many secret places to get lost and enjoy!
We have never had any trouble, never seen strangers wandering around, and always left computers and phones out without worry - and we've been going here since 2015 - very sexy and safe!
This is the fun part, we typically get 4x4 gators which helps us get to the surf faster, but honestly, the beach is a 3-minute walk from our villas. Of course, we'll set up transport to and from the airport if you fly in on recommended flights, but we can even help arrange your private transfers with our trusted partners if needed.
In other words, we got you!
Every day we'll clean up after you...so feel free to enjoy yourself while on vacation!
We will provide breakfast and all but one dinner for the trip. Lunches won't be included as we'll be exploring the town and local areas. So these days, it's up to what you're craving!
Our villas will have plenty of fresh drinking water jugs, they never go empty. And we will stock refrigerators with fresh juices left over from breakfasts.
This is a no-alcohol week, can you handle it?
Walk just a few steps and get a taste of the local waves. We will provide two surf lessons for you to ride your first wave, or if you're a pro, perfect your form! With world-famous waves, you'll be eager to dip your toes in the water daily!
This experience is included in trip fees.
The best days are days spent on a boat. We will take a private catamaran tour to see stunning white sand beaches, snorkel, and enjoy fresh foods!
This experience is included in trip fees.
After a late night, you may not want to wake up and join us for a workout, but we highly suggest it! Included in your trip, the boot camps and yoga sessions keep us energized - there is nothing better than waking up and sweating with your new friends! Our world-class trip leaders know how to start your day the best way, with a good workout to prime us for a day of adventuring.
This experience is included in trip fees.
If you'd like we have include a 30-minute massage for every guest from our local masseuses. You deserve it after all those morning workouts we will put you through!
No need to whip out your phone or camera at any point throughout this trip because we have got you covered. We will have a professional photographer and videographer joining us on this trip to capture every moment. These will be the best travel photos and videos you will ever get - you're friends better be ready for a photo dump out of their wildest dreams!!
This experience is included in trip fees.
We'll be doing some adventures throughout this trip that require a bit of self-awareness of the surrounding area. Remember, this is the jungle.
Dehydration is a common cause of feeling unwell. We require everyone to bring their own refillable water bottle and drink lots of water.
Your skin will burn easily in the tropics, and especially ya'll winter hibernating New Yorkers. So get the proper gear and protection!
There have been no incidents that we've heard of or come across that would have us concerned. You are safe in the area and very safe if you stay with us; our accommodation is very secure and has several guards working 24/7.
DO NOT FLUSH ANY PRODUCTS, INCLUDING PAPER, DOWN THE TOILETS.
This is a third-world country, and the sewage is not the same as in the US. There are waste baskets next to the bathrooms. Please use those.
Super fast and reliable! We have 400 Mbps fiber optic internet, perfect for streaming, working remotely, or sharing your Nicaragua adventures.
No worries, we have backup systems in place:
• Each villa has batteries that keep the WiFi and fan running for 2 hours (A/C takes a break).
• If needed, we’ll fire up the gas-powered generator to keep things going beyond that.
It’s been rock solid. If there’s an issue—say, a tree takes down a line—you can usually switch to a mobile hotspot. That said, even during a recent storm when cell service had hiccups, the fiber optic connection stayed strong.
Bottom line: You’ll stay connected in paradise!
